Waaksaam en Wakker

Although originally the offspring of Fokofpolisiekar, Van Coke Kartell have grown into themselves with their second album, Waaksaam en Wakker. Starting off sounding like old-school biker music for Afrikaans people, multiple layers come to the fore upon repeated listening. To shout out their new-found identity, the album bares a gruff looking bulldog, fragmented by strips of yellow and beige. Portraits of the band members are shown in similar style inside. Designed by Ruan Vermeulen and Am I Collective, the design is definitely as loud as the album.
