Taswald Pillay, an architecture student from the University of Johannesburg, has scooped the prestigious PG Bison Interior Design Student of the Year Award. The theme was CURE – Creative Urban Retail Experience – and the brief required students to design a kiosk for the 2010 Soccer World Cup to promote South Africa. The winning prize is an all-expenses-paid trip for Taswald and his lecturer, Martie Bitzer, to the Milan Furniture Fair in Italy in April this year, valued at R40 000 each.
