Simple yet advanced, the Bouroullec brothers’ new sideboard balances material functionality with elegant aesthetics.
French design brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have designed an aluminium sideboard for Italian furniture brand Magis.
“Theca” sideboard combines an aluminium body and sliding doors with wooden shelves that bolt to the sides of the unit.
Perfect for storing goods or using as a display shelf, Theca is durable and long-lasting due to its high quality materials and manufacturing process.
"We are fascinated by the challenge of creating domestic pleasant objects with a technology usually used for industrial parts," says the brothers.
Theca is available in black or neutral with European cherry tree or black stained ash shelves.
The brother’s have also updated their “Steelwood Galva”, a beech wood chair with galvanised trimmings, and added a bar stool to the collection.
Both designs will be on display during Milan Furniture Fair from 9 to 14 April 2013.
