A billion people across the globe do not have access to clean water due to a growing population, industrialisation, climate change and the pollution and salination of groundwater reserves. Desolenator is a clean technology product intended to address this worldwide problem by using only solar energy to purify water from any source, including the sea.
Desolenator is a two-wheeled solar panel with a built-in boiling unit, water storage unit, LCD display and feed pipe, which draws contaminated water into the device. The clean technology is designed to remove 99.9 per cent of contaminants from any water source. This could change the lives of those that live in regions where natural groundwater reserves have been polluted or seawater is the only water resource.
With a lifespan of up to 20 years, it is said that the Desolenator requires very little maintenance and unlike most water-purifying models, needs no pre-treatment chemicals or extra filters.
