DI Party 2009

The annual Design Indaba party is a celebratory spectacle, showcasing top local musical and creative talent. The 2009 event was spread across two venues – The Assembly and Chevelle – in Harrington Street. The street between the two venues was closed and performance art by the Rooster Collective, directed by Angela Nemov, turned the walkway into a carnival. At The Assembly, revellers enjoyed the sounds of Funafuji, Mr Sakitumi, Alan Funk, Lonesome Dave Ferguson, Gazelle, The Beams, Lapse and Niskerone, with VJing from Grrrl, Skabenga and Storyboy. In Chevelle, the dance floor was kept vibey by Thibo Tazz, Soul Revolution (Leighton Moody and Erefaan Pearce live), Ivan and Esa, Miss H, and Midnight Men, with VJing from Afterlife.
