Johannesburg fashion designer Suzaan Heyns collaborated with photographer Brett Rubin to shoot her origami-inspired Spring/Summer 2009 collection, which was one of the highlights of this year’s Cape Town Fashion Week. “We decided to use a natural setting that was so obscure it almost seemed ‘unnatural’. This accentuated the shapes of the clothing with a hint of summer, while also touching on a sense of uneasy futurism in terms of the environment and in particular humanity’s relationship with it,” explained Rubin.
