Creating handcrafted jewellery for pleasurable wearing, Shelley & Harry specifically select traditional precious metals and stones that embrace an appreciation of Cape Town’s indigenous flora.
For the natural gem rings, Shelley & Harry use precious gems in their natural state. After finding the right stone, colour and crystal structure, the jewellery is then designed for the stone, and not the other way around. It’s about seeing the raw, rough gems in a sophisticated and elegant setting.
The inspiration is in the detail with an emphasis on colour and texture. The blue of the Cape’s sea and sunny skies, the rugged African landscape and delicate indigenous flora are just some of the inspirations for designs.
