Targeting the claim that applying a condom “kills the vibe”, 4secs:condoms were designed by Roelf Mulder of South African design company …XYZ. The condom applicator won Design Indaba’s Most Beautiful Object in South Africa award in 2007 and since has been exhibited at the Design Museum Holon, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. “It is a small product that could have one of the biggest impacts on our social, cultural and economic future,” explained Bernard Smith of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in Pretoria.
